DESTINY JUNIOR EDUCATION CENTRE

At Destiny Junior Education Centre, we believe that the place you come from should not stand in the way of unlocking opportunities in life. Our philosophy is rooted in the knowledge that every student, no matter what their circumstances, has the potential to achieve a life worth living and we are committed to helping them reach their goals and aspirations. We also believe that learning starts with teachers and are dedicated to training and nurturing our faculty to ensure the education they are imparting fully complies with the requirements of the Kenyan Ministry of Education's, Competency Based Curriculum 

Situated in Mathare, a century old slum in Nairobi (Kenya), Destiny Junior Education Centre was founded in 2012 after a teacher, Judith Odero and a local coach and social worker, Austin Ajowi, came together to provide a place of learning for the community's idle street children. From our inception as a tiny community based organisation to now, a fully accredited Kenyan primary and middle school, we have endeavoured to educate and feed the forgotten people of our locality. Over the years, we have adapted and evolved to meet the changing needs of our students and community, always growing while still remaining true to our core values.
